Sorry to be so slow in thanking you. I am a potter and had to get back in the studio ASAP as I have my annual show coming up too soon. Being an artist I have a very strong aesthetic and often have trouble with Paris apartments that we have rented in the past. The last had a great view of Notre Dame, but two ugly chairs. Had to throw a sheet over them. Your Paris apartment is perfect in every way. It is beautifully and lovingly decorated. We adored the neighborhood and all of the fabulous restaurants. Bill who loves to cook thought the kitchen perfect and we had several people for dinner. And then there was the peace and quiet and the terrific bed. We slept way past our normal getting up hour. All best wishes, Pam and Bill
Dear Lisa, Yes ----We just stayed in this apartment from 3/21/06 to 3/27/06!!! It is as lovely as its pictures, and the owner (Lisa) is amazingly helpful!! This was our second apartment rental in Paris. (The preceding was for a trip in November'05 and for that trip we rented through Vacations in Paris.) If we were to return anytime soon---I would not hesitate to rent the apartment on Rue Beaune again. The apartment is very well-appointed, with some fine touches, up-scale furniture and paintings, top-of the line bedding and linens, custom draperies. The kitchen had all the usual appliances, plus a separate clothes washer and dryer. As soon as you enter the hallway off the street, you know you are in a building that is extremely well cared for---marble floor, frescoed walls, freshly veneered circular staircase, and an elevator. The apartment was spotless. The kitchen and bath were stocked with all necessary paper products, along with many "extra" niceties that we did not find at the previous apartment rental---which was the same price per day. The neighborhood is wonderful---two small grocery stores, a boulangerie, patisserie, gourmet deli, several bars/restaurants and numerous, wonderful antique shops---all within a block of the apartment. The neighborhood is safe and very convenient. You are two blocks from the Seine, and directly across the river from the Louvre. For transportation, you have a choice of the Rue de Bac metro stop (2 blocks), or the RER C stop at the Musee d'Orsay (about 4 blocks). There are also numerous bus routes along the Blvd. St. Germain des Pres (a two block walk away). Loved the apartment!! If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me. Guest comment from Australia: Hi Lisa, We just returned from Europe and I wanted to comment on how delightful our stay on rue de Beaune was. Your apt. is beautiful and the attention to detail was very much appreciated...down to the umbrella and sugar cubes. We would just like to thank you and hope we will have an opportunity to stay there again in the future. You couldn't have a better location. We felt very safe and enjoyed all the pretty antique shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. I'll pass on the apt recommendation to my family and friends for future trips to Paris. Have a great summer. Pam and Dave Lisa, So sorry I have not emailed sooner. We have been moving my Mother and step-Father into our rental closer to our own home for the past month. Today I am taking a break!!! I just wanted to tell you that we four ladies had a wonderful time in Paris. Your apartment was the BEST! We so enjoyed the neighborhood; the market just down the street, the restaurants nearby, delis, and especially the pastry store around the block. We enjoyed having the Louvre and the d'Orsay just a few blocks away, as well as the metro. The information you have in the apartment regarding the neighborhood and Paris itself is wonderful. The only suggestion I could possibly make is to have your Paris representative orient tenants on the use of the front door security; keys/magnetic key. We did figure it out, but were laughing about the first time trying to get back into the apartment. Thank you so much for the use of your apartment. It truly enhanced our vacation in Paris. Hi Lisa We had a fabulous time in Paris. The weather co-operated and we had the sun when we needed it. The strike did not affect us terribly - only one day when the museums were closed and we did other things. Some of the memorable highlights: the mandatory boat ride along the Seine upon our arrival; a Vivaldi concert at Sainte-Chapelle; an evening at Lapin Agile in Montmartre; walking along the Seine in the late afternoon sun; shopping for picnic fixings on rue Mouffetard and having a picnic on the grounds of Notre Dame; Sunday afternoon in the brilliant sunshine in Place des Vosges; cheesecake in the Jewish quarter sold by the slab like we grew up with in Montreal as children; the art; the architecture; those views; lunch at Le Grand Colbert & La Coupole; croque monsieurs on Blvd Saint Germaine; the lamb cooked for7 hours; the pastries at Laduree, Fauchon, Gerard Mulot - the list could goon forever. Your apartment is lovely and it served our purpose very well. The neighbourhood is terrific - loved all the shops - we felt like true Parisians when buying breads, cheeses etc. I don't think we could have been better situated. We were able to walk everywhere which helped reduce the poundage from pastries from Laduree! Dear Lisa, Home again, home again! After one week in Paris and 2 in London, I am finally home. I loved your place in Paris. I loved the place itself and the location. I was very impressed with how well the space was used. Having absolutely no wasted space made it seem so much bigger - every centimeter of space was used for something and the single little bit of corridor led off to the bedroom, bathroom and WC - and it was SO smart to have a split bath and put such a large sink into the toilet room. Everything was thought out very well. The living room, with a wall of windows kept the entire apartment nice and airy. And it is a nice building. We normally stay in the 6th arrond. and never really have a sense of the Seine. But at your place, there was always, somehow, a sense that the river was close. I loved it. BRAVO!
